When it was decided that JDavyd, Scott, and Tony
could not work together, JDavyd chose to continue under the moniker of
Dawnrazor. He recruited Tristan to play bass, and carried on as a duo.
It was in this form that the sound began to change.
The harsh guitar that helped to define Dawnrazor's sound was hard to recreate
with only JDavyd playing, and Tristan's bass style was much different than
Scott's; simpler, doing little more than hold up the low end. The influence
of electronic music and synth pop that would eventually cause JDavyd to
form Visions In Blue also began to show itself in new songs where
he would leave out guitar completely.
Many weeks of preparation lead to their first show.
One of the infamous goodman street "Practice Space Parties" allowed them
to debut the new lineup with less tension and pressure than a regular show.
After a few months of regular playing, external
circumstances caused Tristan to leave the band, and JDavyd decided that
it was finally time to lay Dawnrazor to rest.
In the short time they played together, they shared
the stage with many old friends, and new ones as well, including Monolith,
The Violet Dawning, Terminal Ready, and Wish.
